Work: Regeneration
 
NDE plays a lead role in researching, devising and developing new approaches to physical regeneration issues in the conurbation. NDE has been involved in many initiatives that have contributed to Nottingham's fast rate of economic growth. The have included the promotion of the area's thriving commercial sectors, the transformation of the city centre, and community regeneration in socially and economically excluded areas.

Projects: Regeneration

MediPark
The development of a BioMedical Science Park which will accommodate companies, that require a close relationship with a major teaching hospital in order to develop their products and services. The project includes "MediCity" - an incubation centre which will provide SME's with accomodation and business support services.
BioDistrict

Feasibility study work to create a BioSciences district or quarter in the area surrounding BioCity.www.biocity.co.uk : Europe's largest bioscience incubator facility.

BioCity currently has 66 Companies collectively employing over 500 staff

Science City Property Strategy
NDE has led on the development of a Science City land and property strategy for the conurbation. This has provided an action plan and investment framework to ensure an adequate future supply of "hi tech" premises for local businesses. 
Trent River Park
Development and implementation of the Trent River Park sub regional strategy - a major project to utilise the River Trent as a regeneration corridor within the conurbation. The project incorporates proposals for redeveloping parts of the river frontage, improving access to, along and across the river, environmental improvements and creating a focus for regeneration, recreation, leisure and tourism amenities.

Old Market Square Design Competition
At the request of the City Council, NDE has assisted with the project management of the international design competition aimed at improving Nottingham's premier public space, one of Europe's largest public open spaces.
Station Masterplan
NDE currently chairs the Station Working Group. This group has overseen the commissioning of a master plan for the redevelopment of the Station. The aim of the project is to create a high quality transport interchange at the heart of the city, while harnessing the potential of the Station to act as a catalyst for regeneration in the surrounding Southside area.
"Nottingham Transformed"

Regeneration Capital Investment Fund

NDE established the £4 million Regeneration Capital Investment Fund, which has provided funding and support to local community organisations wishing to create workspace and business accommodation.
